Club Newsletter – April 2018

Chairman’s welcome

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2018! Thanks to everyone who completed their membership forms and paid online – this has saved a huge amount of time not to mention trees!

With the clocks having changed we ‘spring’ into the summer programme this week, the lighter evenings meaning we can run under natural light. View the calendar here.

Our club series starts on Thursday 3 May, and our regional is on Sunday 24 June. We are also hosting the South Champs this year, which will take place on 29 and 30 September incorporating the Mind fundraiser event and South Region trophy presentation on the Saturday. We are always looking for more people to help as many hands make light work… don’t be shy!

You may have noticed that a container has arrived, and set back in an area of undergrowth that had slowly been encroaching on the track. This will make life a lot easier for setting up and tidying away before and after gates, coaching and racing, and is part of the continual improvement and investment in your club.

We will aim to publish a newsletter monthly with what’s on and what’s happened, so please add us to your contacts so we don’t end up in the junkmail folder! If you do want to opt out, there’s a button at the bottom.

Well done to all our racers at the first round of the summer regional series at Runnymede on 1 April – happy birthday and congratulations on the big win, Josh Sylvester! A full race round-up will appear in our next newsletter.

Here’s to a fantastic 2018 and a long, hot summer. See you trackside soon.

SINCE 1981

Bournemouth BMX Club has been at the Iford Playing Fields site since 1981 and is one of the oldest in the UK. If you are aged from under 6 to over 40 why not give it a go? We have now also managed to build up a bank of club bikes and equipment so there really is no excuse!
