Chairman’s welcome
With the clocks changing we have finally reached Summer time!!! With one National, three Regional races and our first club race under our belts it’s been fantastic to see so many of our riders hitting the track for another season of racing, and the progression made by all of our riders following a long winter of training.
Club membership has got off to great start with our regulars renewing and many new members joining up for the first time too. As many of you have seen we finally have our new storage in place and work is ongoing to get the container painted and fitted out which will give us the extra storage space we have been needing for quite some time.
The club bikes have been serviced and are ready for a busy summer ahead – a big thanks to Bournemouth Cycle Works for fixing up the bikes for us.
May is another busy month with the successful Cyclopark Regional on 13 May and finishing off the month on 26/27 May with a National round back at Cyclopark. It would be great to see as many of our riders as possible at these events.
We have Phil Hudu back this week to give the track a refresh and some much needed TLC after a long soggy winter, so the track will be shut while the works take place. This includes rescheduling round two of our club summer race series… details to follow!
We will also be installing some permanent fencing around the finish line area and the pens to smarter things up and save a lot of work on race days.
24 June sees us host our Regional round for this season so we will be looking for volunteers to help out with marshalling, call-up, finish line, car parking and catering. Please don’t be afraid in coming forward as many hands make light work and this event is our biggest source of income for the year.
So with summer on its way and a full calendar of events ahead of us there’s plenty to keep us busy. Any questions please drop me a line.
See you trackside,
Michael
