1. Annual review and Chairman’s report
Another great year for the club in all areas. Membership with over 200 members has remained
strong and makes us one of the biggest clubs in the country which has also been reflected in our
racing results. Regionally we finished 3 rd (but really First after the confusion over the double header
weekend) with 95 riders taking part in the series. Nationally we finished 8th with 46 riders taking part.
Our annual club summer series again was a huge success with a change to Friday nights for the first
time and also the introduction of fish and chips.138 riders took part over the 6 races.
Over the Winter the Deep South series once again gave us the opportunity to keep racing with 82
riders taking part and also providing the club with a great income source second only to the Summer
Regional Race we host.
On a coaching front we can now boast a team of 15 qualified coaches which has ensured we have
been able to offer consistent training for all our riders and Id like to offer a huge thanks to all our
coaches and the hard work and commitment they put into the club.
We are looking at a refresh of the coaching offer and structure to further enhance what we do and
further develop a consistent development pathway for all our riders and ensuring we maximise the
potential of our coaching team. Details to follow
A lot of work has been put in to hard wiring our Sqorz system into the track enabling us to really
exploit the benefits of the system to our riders. Also a reorganisation of the container has made the
storage a lot better and also a lot safer. Next steps are to hard wire the gate system into the
contained allowing mush easier set up and integration with the Sqorz system which should be
complete in the next 4-6 weeks.
Although we made no major track changes over the past year we carried out some much needed
drainage work on the first straight which greatly improved riding conditions over the never ending
soggy winter.
Planning for the New Track continues to move forward although at a frustrating slow pace but in no
way is this due to efforts our end and Id like to give a huge thanks to John Twitchen for his time and
efforts in getting this over the line fingers crossed. We hope to have some updates on this during
April. The planning is only the start ,once this is confirmed we need to start the fundraising and bid
submitting so if you feel you can help in this area please drop us a line. There’s a long way to go yet
but once we gain momentum Im sure we will all be surprised on what progress can be made.
Every year we see new faces arrive and sadly some leave but what has been great to see over the
past year is the number of people stepping up and volunteering so thankyou to everyone that has
helped in the running of the club and putting on events.
With the Summer Regional Series already underway and Bournemouth hosting the first round it was
great to get back into regional racing again and with over 430 riders making the trip it was a fantastic
start to 2025.
A huge thanks to all our committee members for their efforts and time over the past year and I look
forward to more of the same over 2025 with some new faces coming along too.
Finally Id like to say a huge thanks to Cathy Wilcocks and Cheryl Mainwairng who are stepping down
from the committee this year where they have held Welfare roles over the past few years. They
won’t be disappearing totally so we shall see them track side over the Summer.
So 2025 let’s get cracking ,keep moving forward and have some fun
Thanks Michael

Part 2: Open meeting for non-AGM business
It was suggested that we raise car parking up to £5 for the next regional to keep in line with other clubs in the Region.
There was a request to get the club social media accounts up and running – particularly Instagram but also TikTok. Agreed that Mark Taylor, Neil / Fliss Mullins, James Edis will all be gathering content to post.
Website – The film needs updating to remove club members that no longer ride. JS to look into doing this.
There was a request for a whole Club Photo – Decided that we will do this at a club race in club shirts. Date to be confirmed.
Can we add Coach Profiles onto the website? JS to photograph.
Will there be a new jersey this year? Decided to keep the existing design for another year.
NXT Experience is not great. Lots of bad experiences. Website crashes. Expensive.
With Bryn leaving will there be any mid-week coaching? There is a Monday slot available – let’s ask the coaches to see if anyone wants to run a session.
It has been discussed that Jon Moore may be running a S&C session one evening before gates.
