Important update about club coaching and training – coaching guide… UPDATED!
The coaches have updated the coaching guide for all riders attending club coaching and training sessions, first published in October 2021 for the 2021/22 winter coaching season. The guide is there to ensure that all riders are in the correct group for their own safety and to get the most out of club sessions.
The guide provides benchmarks for riders to work towards both within and outside of club sessions. The track is open to ride when not in use by the club for organised sessions, and riders can continue to work on their skills, track speed and strength & conditioning in their own time – at the track or in a local park/safe space.
Sessions normally incorporate many of the benchmark activities, from gate practice to full-on coaching sessions. Coaches are on-hand to discuss progression, provide feedback and answer questions.
All our club coaches are fully qualified and insured
Please remember that all our club coaches are fully qualified and insured through British Cycling – unqualified coaches are not insured and therefore nor are you. Only sessions advertised and promoted by the club are sanctioned by the club and covered by our insurance.
A huge amount of personal time is given over to making these sessions happen for the benefit of all riders and racers. We are extremely grateful for your support of club activities, your help mucking in, and your understanding as we aim to improve everything we do.
Our riders have undoubtedly made progress, and we are excited for the future with bumper numbers of beginners progressing through Group 1 and into racing. We’ve got new sessions on the timetable and lots more planned, and we look forward to seeing our riders and racers progressing on track this year!
